KIDS JUDO PROGRAMS
The Ottawa Judo Club offers two separate but concurrent programs for young judoka. Both classes run at the same time, with students grouped by experience and belt level.
Kids Judo FUNdamentals (Ages 5–8, White Belts)
Perfect for beginners, this program introduces the basics of Judo in a playful and supportive environment. It’s designed for kids who are new to organized activities and helps them learn to follow instructions, work with partners, and develop body awareness through fun games and movement drills.
Class Schedule (Both Groups)
- Wednesdays: 5:45 PM – 6:45 PM
- Saturdays: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Classes are held at the same time, but participants are split into separate groups based on experience and belt level.
Focus Areas:
- FUNdamentals and physical literacy
- Balance, coordination, agility (ABC’s of athleticism
- Cooperation and classroom behavior
LTAD STAGE
Active Start: Physical activity and motor skill development in a fun, semi-structured environment
Eligibility:
- Ages 5–8
- White Belts (Beginners)

Kids Judo Advanced
(Ages 7–11, Yellow to Orange/Green Belts)
This program is for kids who have progressed beyond the basics. It emphasizes technical development, coordination, and introduces randori (sparring) in a safe and enjoyable format. This program also encourages leadership, resilience, and self-confidence.
