He has been to two tournaments and it has made him more focused and determined to do better not only at judo but at school and home”.
Eligibility – Must be 12 years of age and older, Orange Belt to Black Belt.
Competitive Judo Classes – The Ottawa Judo Club holds classes 3 times per week on Monday and Thursdays from 6:45 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 10:30 pm to 11: 30 am.
The Pre-Competitive program covers the following categories in the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model:
LEARNING TO TRAIN – Begins integration of physical, emotional and cognitive development; emphasis on skill development. For the purposes of Judo we have found it necessary to sub-divide this category into two stages, based on age.
TRAINING TO TRAIN – Consists of sport-specific skill development with emphasis on aerobic and strength development
