YOUTH JUDO PROGRAMS

The Ottawa Judo Club offers two structured Youth Judo programs designed to support teens at different stages of their Judo journey. Both programs help build life skills through physical fitness, technique development, and the values of Judo.

Youth Judo Development 

This program is ideal for new and developing judoka. With a focus on foundational techniques, coordination, and confidence, teens will also be introduced to randori (sparring) in a supportive, fun, and structured environment. Great for students looking to get active, improve fitness, and build personal discipline.

Class Schedule (Both Groups Run Simultaneously)

  • Mondays: 6:45 PM – 7:45 PM

  • Thursdays: 6:45 PM – 7:45 PM

  • Saturdays: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Youth Developmental and Youth Advanced programs train at the same time but are separated by experience and belt level for focused instruction.

Focus Areas:

    • Fundamental techniques and movement

    • Coordination, balance, and confidence

    • Randori in a safe and enjoyable setting

    • Respect, teamwork, and classroom discipline

Eligibility:

  • Ages 9–13

  • White to Green Belts

Youth Judo Advanced (Experienced Judoka)

This program is for committed judoka who are working toward higher-level competition or black belt preparation. The class emphasizes advanced techniques, intensive randori, and competition-specific strategies in a goal-driven and supportive training environment.

Class Schedule (Both Groups Run Simultaneously)

  • Mondays: 6:45 PM – 7:45 PM

  • Thursdays: 6:45 PM – 7:45 PM

  • Saturdays: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Optional Fitness Conditioning (All Levels):

  • Wednesdays: 5:00 PM – 5:45 PM

    • High-level randori and tactical application

    • Competition preparation and personal goal setting

    • Leadership and mentorship opportunities

Eligibility:

    • Ages 10–18

    • Green Belt and above, or by coach invitation
